Mr. Sangha has been a founder, CEO and board member of several public companies and brings over 30 years of entrepreneurial, operational and capital market experience to Barrel Energy Inc. In 1986 he started his career as Investment Advisor and gained his affinity for raising capital for numerous startups and early stage public companies. Mr. Sangha’s dedication and continued global business ventures have established many valuable industry contacts and relationships with institutional clients worldwide.
Mr. Alford has wide-ranging global business development and operational experience having worked in over 30 countries. He has served as a director and within executive management for a number of public companies and has played a key role in successfully raising millions of dollars in equity. Mr. Alford has been responsible for the direct expenditure and budgeting of hundreds of millions of dollars and has developed comprehensive economic analysis for billion-dollar M & A transactions. Mr. Alford holds an Honours Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Science.
Mr. Hensman brings to our board a wealth of knowledge in global business, strategy development and regulatory oversight. He has held a number of executive leadership roles including serving as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer for Scotia Capital Inc. (USA), as Managing Director (Equities) for Scotia Capital Inc (United Kingdom), Chairman of the Board of Governors at CI Funds, Chairman of Board of Creststreet Asset Management and Chairman of the Board of Creststreet Power and Income Fund. Mr. Hensman possesses both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degree.
Syed Rahman is a Technical Architect by profession and has delivered Hi-Tech solutions for 17 years in Finance, Retail, Telecom and within the Public sector. Syed has headed dedicated technical teams in India, Asia Pacific and the Middle east for various Telecom, Government and Banking projects. His multifaceted experience has built solid relationships with a broad spectrum of the Retail, Banking, Logistics and Government sectors. Mr. Rahman has worked closely with Policy makers/Advisors, Ministers, CXO’s and several State Secretaries. He has advised Startups, helping with GTM as well as product execution strategy.
Mr. Gaffoor is an Electrical Engineer with above 25 years Battery industry expertise on various battery technologies, and holds 10 patents on advanced battery technologies, 3 of which are held in the U.S. He served for 8 years as Deputy General Manager of Hyderabad Batteries Ltd. (HBL), and as General Manager at Renewable Energy Systems Ltd., developing specialized batteries for a number of applications including Solar power systems. He served as a Director and CEO of NED Energy Ltd., raising the value of the company by 25x in an eventual buy out by Time Technoplast Ltd., after which he continued to serve as a director. Mr. Gaffoor vision is to commercialize Lithium Cell manufacturing in India for the applications of Energy Storage and Electric Vehicles.
Ashok Shukla is a Professor Emeritus at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Through his, creative, interdisciplinary and cutting-edge research, Ashok Shukla has made extensive fundamental and applied contributions to the fields of storage batteries, fuel cells and supercapacitors. His research has focused on novel electrocatalysts, lithium-ion cathodes/anodes, lead-carbon ultracapacitors, nickel-iron batteries and tropical lead-acid batteries. He has also been actively engaged in innovative engineering of self-supported polymer electrolyte, direct methanol and direct borohydride fuel cell systems. Dr. Shukla has authored over 300 scientific papers, has two dozen technical patents to his credit and has over three decades of teaching experience as Professor in India’s premier R&D and academic institution, the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Professor Shukla is a fellow of Indian National Science Academy, Indian National Academy of Engineering, National Academy of Sciences India, Indian Academy of Sciences, The Electrochemical Society (US) and The International Society of Electrochemistry.
